THE GATE SHOPPING MALL, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE
Brief
To provide an aesthetically pleasing masonry walling unit which
will meet the aesthetic and contemporary appearance required in
this city centre site. A high quality masonry unit was required
which would weather well over the longer term.
Solution
Fyfestone masonry in split faced and tooled finishes was chosen
as the preferred finish for this shopping mall. A precast smooth
ashlar finish was also used to complement the Fyfestone.
