COMPOSITION, MANUFACTURE
All Elite products are produced utilising high quality
aggregates, ordinary Portland cement and synthetic iron oxide
pigments. The hydraulically wet pressed manufacturing process
guarantees a high quality product of low porosity and low drying
shrinkage allied to high density and strength.
STANDARD & AUTHORITY
Fyfestone Elite Architectural Masonry complies fully with BS EN
771-5.
COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH
25N/mm2
DENSITY
Normal manufactured density (at 3% m/c) of the concrete is
>2200 kg/m3.
THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
The value of the concrete is in the range:
- 1.54 - 1.73 W/mK @ 3% m/c
- 1.70 - 1.90 W/mK @ 5% m/c
DURABILITY
- Water absorption – low.
- Porosity – negligible.
- Water : cement ratio - blocks have a minimum cement content of
270kg/m3 and a maximum
- water : cement ratio of 0.45.
Sulphate resistance - all blocks are suitable for use in Class 3
sulphate conditions. Blocks may be specified for use in higher
sulphate conditions Freeze/thaw: blocks are able to withstand
repeated freeze/thaw cycles without any adverse effect. (check this
is the case for all the range – only Polished and Bullnosed state
this on the literature)
